Captain Stanley`s in Raleigh

Visiting from out of town, dined at lunch with two colleagues. This place is running over with Southern hospitality. Friendly and helpful service. Great seafood lunch specials, most in the $7 to $8 range. I had flounder and shrimp, two nice filets and probably a dozen small to medium shrimp. Light breading, cooked perfectly. A lot of sides to choose from. They bring a basket of corn dodgers to the table to start things off. Three meals, drinks for three and one decaf coffee, around $30. Highly recommend.

Food was very good and we got there late...close to closing but staff very welcoming! Food very hot and fresh! We will be back!

The food was very well-priced, the portions were generous (and delicious), and our waitress was very friendly. Would definitely go again.I had the broiled combo platter with whitefish, trout, and catfish, with great beans and coleslaw.

Capt Stanley's has good customer service and gets busy at lunch and dinner. Be ready to brave the crowds since this place is popular for a reason. Food is good and a great price. There is plenty of parking but it can fill up quick. Check it out for good seafood fare.

Great food, big portion sizes,and better than this other seafood place in Apex, wish we had found this place beforehand. This place was packed and people were constantly coming.Welove it, thank you for awesome customer service!!!

Excellent food at a reasonable price. Small and senior portion sizes are offered. Service is very good. Don't worry that the parking lot is full. The line to get in moves at a good pace.

WHAT CAN I SAY! I really do like this place! the Food was amazing the service was great. The only reason i gave a 4 star was because the food did take a while to get to our table. The are very busy during lunch times but the wait is definately worth it! I had the grilled red snapper🤤 you get 2 sides with your order plus some delicous hush puppies.

Exceptional fare in my opinion. If I eat seafood, I'm going to this restaurant. All the offerings from the ocean are typically high quality and the veggies are purchased from the NC farmer's market (twice daily). My favorite is their lightly battered and fried scallops and the portions are usually generous. Captain Stanley's is worth the drive and a visit.

Predictably delicious. This is our "go to" seafood spot. This food is always delicious and very reasonably priced. If your looking for romantic atmosphere, small fancy portions of food dressed up in greenery and a drink with an umbrella, then this isn't your place. If you're looking for fresh, delicious, reasonably priced seafood cooked the way that folks around here LOVE it, then come see the Stanley's and you won't be disappointed.

Man I have to say....this place is great! I am staying here for a week and found this little dive. It's a nice down home cooking atmosphere. I had chicken livers, lima beans, and a bowl of she crab soup. It was excellent and unbelievably cheap. Well worth the stop. Recommended highly.

When my daughter and I went there, there was a long line and we thought we would have to wait awhile but come to find out they took us as soon as we'd got there they took us out of line because they said that party was for a birthday party. When we were seated our waitress was here within a minute greeted us and brought hush puppies with her and took out drink order but my daughter and I already knew what we wanted and we put that order in and we received it in a reasonable amount of time. The french fries we're hot and the catfish wasn't as crisp as I like it but it was good, shrimp was cooked perfectly, the coleslaw was pretty good and the sweet tea was right on point. Yes I would return to this place and I recommend it. This is a very casual place not loud or dingy with clean restrooms.

Food was delicious and affordable. I forgot my wallet and I live in Winston Salem. I had my checkbook and cashier said they do not take checks. She said "go ahead eat and when back in town you can pay" I could not believe they would let me do that. I ate a great meal then went to bank and came back to pay for lunch. They gained a new loyal customer. Good old Southern Hospitality. I even got a hug from the cashier!

I make it a point to eat at this seafood resturant when I'm in the Garner NC, Raleigh area. Lightly breaded, well prepared and presented. They offer a range of food but I go for the seafood. Its food for the soul, and I love their vegetables.

Really good food at pretty decent prices. There's a different special each day, and plenty of variety in both main courses and sides (it's a mix and match sort of affair).

Still the best! Have been visiting Captain Stanley's since childhood. It is a staple of Garner and with good reason. The food is incredible and you cannot get this kind of down home customer service anywhere else. This was my first time trying the salmon cakes and my mouth has been watering ever since. I couldn't put them down.

Came here for the first time. We'll be back. Food was good came out quick and hot. Service was good. I like it because you can pick two or three main dishes and a couple of sides so you have a variety. Prices were good too.

Captain Stanley's Seafood is still a great place to get seafood! I had not eaten there in over six or seven YEARS! But, I wanted seafood really bad and could not think of a place. Then I thought about Captain Stanley's. When I got there, it was just as busy as I remembered! It was bumper to bumper. I got Crockers (fried hard), baked potato and Lima beans. Sooooo good!!! They were REALLY busy and yet very friendly and patient because I didn't know what I wanted. The service was good and the food GREAT!!!

Great customer service from Angie. She had many tables but never let our beverages go dry. She was very jubilant and excited about what she does. Food was hot and quickly prepared. All you can eat special and other great specials too. Whether pick up or eat in, our family is always pleased.

Service was vey good. I found a hair in my food but was still charged for my meal when I sent it back. Otherwise the food was decent at a good price.

Calabash style seafood that's consistently delicious. Finding good shrimp isn't too difficult, but finding a place to get good scallops without them being occasionally chewy isn't as easy. We always get them the way we love them at Captain Stanley's. Great place to eat.

We eat here often, 95 percent of the time, the food is wonderful. Rarely it's over cooked, but it has happened. The staff is always friendly, and we have never had a problem with service.

Decent place for what it is.....Service was fast. Food was hot. Prices are common for a local seafood joint.Only negative: had a hair in my fried shrimp and the only solution was to bring me even more shrimp.

Flounder sandwich was awesome! Topped with Cole slaw...yum!

We had a large group over 20 people and they were able to seat us as a group. Their long time waitress Cindy, was our only waitress. We were served drinks and our food in a timely manner. The food was delicious and reasonably priced and the quality and quantity for lunchtime was exceptional.

Good portions- super fresh fish and shrimp.Some of the best seafood in the area and they don’t steal your wallet to get it!
